JV girls' basketball scores two big wins PDF Print E-mail

HHS girls’ jayvee basketball came away with two big wins last weekend, beating Haxtun Friday, Dec. 18 and Sedgwick County Saturday, Dec. 19.

Coach Arlan Scholl said the team is showing good improvement, and they did much better in free throws after a week of hard practice.


Holyoke JV 28, Haxtun 12

Even though the game started out with Haxtun leading 3-0 at the end of the first quarter, the Dragons kicked it into gear scoring seven, seven and 14 points in the next three quarters respectively, ending with a 28-12 final score over the Bulldogs.

Leading scorers for the Dragons were KrisAnna Ham and Heather Duester, both with eight points. Kaylee Groshans added four; and Annie Daniel, Emily Bradley, Chandler Gerk and Patricia Adams two apiece.


Holyoke JV 42, Sedgwick Co. 6

JV athletes were on target in Saturday’s game against Sedgwick County, outscoring the Cougars in all four quarters. HHS finished the game with a 36-point lead and the big 42-6 win.

Duester led Dragon scoring with 12 points followed by Mallory Bennett with nine; Ham five; Bradley, Erin Vieselmeyer and Groshans four apiece; and Daniel and Gerk two apiece.
