The Sedgwick County Chamber of Commerce will host its 4th Annual Tour of Homes Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 12-13 with homes located in Julesburg and Ovid.
Murl and Judy Abts, Stormy and Lori Baker, Ted and Toni Mollendor, all of Julesburg, as well as Troy and Julie Kotch of Ovid have generously offered to open their homes and to share their holiday collections. Also, listed on the tour is Judy Stone’s doll house display located in he showroom of Stone Motors. The homes will be opened each day from 1-6 p.m.
There will be a reception area set up at the Hippodrome Arts Center located at 215 Cedar in Julesburg. The reception area will be open Saturday from 12:30-5 p.m. and Sunday, 12:30-4 p.m. for the purchase of tickets and refreshments of hot coffee and cookies. Maps will also be available.
Each home will be decorated in the owners’ own taste and styles ranging from the traditional, Victorian, country and elegant.
“We’ve had proven success in the two years where we had good weather,” said Trish Stever, director of the Sedgwick County Chamber of Commerce. “To date we’ve only had one year, 2007, when the weather didn’t cooperate.”
In addition to the tour of homes, an afternoon free matinee will be held for the children, and local merchants will be extending their hours for the convenience of shoppers.
