Health screenings set for ethnic, low-income groups PDF Print E-mail
Written by Holyoke Enterprise

Colorado Asian Health Education and Promotion (CAHEP) from Colorado Springs is coming to Holyoke Saturday, Oct. 3 to give health screenings to different ethnic groups and low-income families of Holyoke.

They will be at First United Methodist Church Saturday, Oct. 3 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Those attending should take insurance cards such as Medicare, as this is government-funded.

There will be flu shots for 4 years old and older, as well as tests for bone density, allergies and asthma; and blood tests for cholesterol, triglycerides, glucose, hemoglobin, diabetes and heart disease risk.

There will be a reduced or discounted charge for the tests, and a translator will be available.

For the blood tests, participants are asked to fast 9-12 hours prior to the screening. Water and black coffee are allowed during that time.
