|Velma Biddle continues rehab in Fort Collins|
|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
While Holyoke residents have missed Velma Biddle in her five-week absence, those at Centre Avenue Health and Rehab Facility in Fort Collins have had the good fortune of getting to know her.
July 17 Velma fell, breaking her arm and dislocating her shoulder. The next day Velma was already on her way to recovery as she had surgery. Another surgery was later required when it was discovered an artery in Velma’s arm was punctured.
Since then, Velma has been making remarkable progress. Every day she gets a little better, said Carol Biddle, Velma’s nephew Art’s wife. She has recently started walking with help, and is enjoying the chance to get out and about.
Velma’s niece Sharon Gray has been there helping Velma on her way to recovery. She noted it’s uncertain what her aunt’s future will hold, but that she is as upbeat as ever and is enjoying her stay at the rehab center.
As Velma nears six weeks since her fall, she continues to do her best to get well. Gray noted she will probably be at Centre Avenue for at least another two weeks. An appointment in the near future will determine when Velma will begin rehab work on her arm.
Velma can be reached by mail at the following address:
