The Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) Board is asking for help in planning future projects.
A public meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 3 in Fort Morgan. GOCO awards grants for outdoor recreation, open space protection, trail and wildlife projects. Citizens and representatives of local governments, state agencies, land trusts and user groups are invited to attend.
GOCO was created in 1992 as a result of a citizens initiative. It receives about half of Colorado Lottery proceeds, $54.3 million in the 2009 fiscal year. More than 3,000 projects have benefited from GOCO grants since 1994. All 64 counties in Colorado have received grants.
The rest room facility at the Phillips County Fairgrounds in Holyoke is a recent project which received GOCO grant money.
The meeting will be held at the American Legion building at 6:30 p.m.
