|Saying 'thanks' to veteran meant much|
|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
Last Friday night, while I was running the cash register at the fair, two young men, in their mid-20’s, I would guess, approached me and ordered burgers and sodas, one was in a wheelchair and the other was his best friend.
After ordering, the one in the wheelchair asked, “Are you a veteran?” I said yes. I was wearing my Nebraska V.F.W. cap. He said, “Thank you for your service.”
We talked for another 10 minutes or so, as we didn’t have any more customers, about my service and some of his friends’ service.
The next day I road the float in the parade, and later as I walked around the fairgrounds, several people thanked me for my service.
I want to personally thank all the veterans for their service to our great country. Thanks to Brady Haynes of Holyoke for almost bringing tears to my eyes Friday night.
May God bless all.
