|Motivational assembly, concert Thursday at HHS|
|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
Thursday, Aug. 20 at 2 p.m. students at Holyoke High School will attend a motivational presentation by the Todd Becker Foundation. “Where is your life headed?” is the theme of the assembly that addresses positive decision making.
Keith Becker will be speaking on the importance of making good choices, as he tells the tragic story of his brother Todd.
After Todd was killed in an alcohol related accident, the Todd Becker Foundation, a Christian based organization, was formed. Traveling around the country, Keith speaks at high school assemblies.
The basis of Keith’s presentation is Biblical passage Matthew 7:13, which reads, “The highway to destruction is wide and the road that leads to it is easy for the many who choose this way. But the gateway to life is small and the narrow road that leads to it is hard, but only a few ever choose this way.”
Keith encourages youth to strive for the right path, avoiding the destruction at the end of the other. The story is described as one every high school student can relate to, because it’s a powerful story about choices.
In addition to the high school assembly Thursday afternoon, the public is invited to a free evening concert by eartosee at the high school at 7 p.m.
